WaterCourse Foods is an all vegetarian restaurant in Denver; they can also accommodate vegans and gluten free is an option on some of their menu items. - They clearly label all the entrees that are gf, but they failed to mark the beverages. - When inquiring about the gf options, the attitude was "well, we can't guarantee that your food will be gf, gluten is used in the kitchen". - In addition, they marked the French Fries gf, but it ends up they are fried in oil shared with gluten foods. Jage and I visited the restuarant with a friend. Since we're all vegetarian, we were very excited and had high expectations for an all veggie facility. Susie was the only one who enjoyed her entree. Until further notice, I'm giving them a thumbs down for the yucky food and their lackadaisical attitude towards gluten free needs. |

I love WaterCourse. The owners are really nice. I think encouragement to keep educating their staff would definitely be accepted by them. They do have two fryers - one for gluten stuff; one for gf stuff. If you order fries, maybe you have to remember to tell them to cook it in the gf one. I blogged about them: WaterCourse |

Small restaurants that only have one fryer can be a problem, if they are frying all the food in the same fryer. Larger restaurants usually have seperate fryers for different foods, esp fast food places because they fry so much, they need seperate fryers for each food item. I've never been to this restaurant, but as far as foods containing gluten being cooked in the kitchen, I wouldn't worry too much about it. There is always a danger of cross contamination in any restaurant, but it is very rare. I dine out often and I don't worry about it. |
