Default I'm new here... HELLO!

Hello,

I'd like to introduce myself. I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago and just began my GF journey. It has been the most amazing transformation for me. Although i had be suffering with symptoms for 3 years and suspected the cause, it took the third try at a diagnosis to get it right. I have been vegetarian for at least 10 years and have tried to go vegan 3 or 4 times but would rely too heavily on fake meats which i know now is my nemesis. I would love to be completely vegan ... any help or advice? I'm working on one major change, maybe I should do it all in one fail swoop.
Thanks for taking the time to read this...
Jessie

Swasssuuuh?
I'm glad I found this place. I'm eating 90% vegan but still struggle in the morning getting away from eggs. It's a lack of knowledge and not a craving. I used to think I suffered from depression, constant sinus pressure and fatigue. But recently I cut out gluten and amaaaazingly, my symptoms have disappeared. As long as I stay from gluten, dairy (yuck!), soy and corn I'm okay. I'm looking forward to learning and annoying everyone.

Hi I am new here and starting a gluten free vegan diet today. I am 55 years old.

I definitely know that gluten gives me arthritic symtoms and other health problems as well. I know because I totally went off gluten for three months and felt a lot better. However, this past year I've been having issues with casein as well. I figure if I'm going dairy free and gluten free, I may as well take the plunge and go vegan as well.

There are some recent, very well documented studies that support the theory that a gluten free vegan diet definitely helps with rheumatoid arthritis and heart health as well.

Glad to meet you all.

Why don't you share some things you like to eat so folks can help you think of ways to still have them or find similar things.

I am 44, female, living in Washington state and an almost vegan because of allergies. I have 55+ allergies including all the top 8 and meats (except 1) and many other fruits and veggies.
I am also soy free. I am still trying to figure out what to eat and how to feed my family, as all the kids also have allergies but not nearly as many as me. Thankfully, none of our allergies are anaphylactic so while we may be uncommfortable, they wont kill us.

The good news is that some of your intolerances might resolve themselves once you are on a strict gluten-free diet. I used to be lactose intolerant and allergic to tropical fruits and others (with my throat swelling up, hives, and all that) but after I went GF I can now eat anything besides gluten and meat.
