Question Waffles?!

Hey, I just got a waffle maker for Christmas

Does anyone have a good recipe for waffles? Vegetarian or vegan... no other food intolerances.

I know there are tons of recipes online... just seeing if anyone has had success with any.

Thanks

Great present, I wish I had a waffle maker! If you are looking for a good pancake/waffle mix Pamela's is very good (www.pamelasproducts.com). My boyfriend who is not GF thinks that this mix tastes better than regular pancakes, so I am sure that the waffles are good. As for recipes to make from scratch, I will ask my sister for you, she may know some successful recipes. Good luck!

Hey, I actually did try Pamela's mix last week the waffles turned out pretty decent.

I tried a waffle recipe the other day using brown rice flour... but they were too dry.

My problem is that I ordered gluten-free waffles from a cafe here in Toronto a couple months ago... they were the best waffles I've ever had!! But the Celiac chef quit the next week... so I can't get the GF waffles there anymore now I am comparing my waffles to hers mine aren't nearly as good.

I will write a post (with pics!) about my results with Pamela's mix

GFCF belgische wafels (Belgian waffles)

recipe is invented by marco leffers, netherlands. marco@arteka.nu

375 gr margarine (you can use butter)
400 gr sugar
1 bag of vanilla sugar
1 small cup of soy milk, with rice milk is more sticky
5 eggs
500 gr of GF flour (I'm in netherlands, I use consenza witt bakmix)
1 bag of baking powder
a bit of oil

margarine has to be melted on low temperature on the cooker

put flour ad back powder in

ad sugar and vanilla sugar

add milk

add egg one at the time and mix all the time

add oil

let it "mature" for a while, at least 30 minutes so everything will be more thick (just i bit more thick)

gluten free dough is behaving like normal flour dough if you let it "mature". it you let it to "fermentate" you will have no problems and results will be fluffy and soft dough

bake it in waffle machine for about 4 minutes

I recently purchased this mix... probably the best waffle mix I've tried!!

Easy to make too... and also VEGAN. Just add oil and milk (cow, rice, soy, whatever). It great that there's instructions for 3, 6 or 9 waffles.

Most of my waffles end up being dry and very crunchy on the outside... but these turned out perfect and my house smelled like fresh-baked cookies haha

I hope the pancakes are just as good. Based on the reviews I've been reading, I have high hopes.
