Frieda's soy choirizo

After searching just about all of the vegan meat substitutes I'm familiar with I almost gave up finding one that is vegan and gluten free. And then today I checked the package of Frieda's soy choirizo. The ingredients looked gf and a quick check of the website confirms it.

If you have never tried it, it is very good. Spicy.

I am so in the mood for "franks" and beans. That means finding gluten free, kosher, vegan hot dogs. Any sources??

The soy chorizo product is excellent! I love to make enchiladas with it.

i use tofu pups, though they were never my favorite before diagnosis....

Hi all,

I saw tofu pups in the store last week and saw they had no gluten in them but were not labeled gluten free. So I wrote Lightlife to ask. They told me that the TofuPups and 4 of their tempeh products were indeed free of gluten. Then I asked about where they are processed and they replied as follows:

Dear Iris,

Our gluten free products are manufactured on the same equipment. We have complete wash-down between batches. However, due to the fact that cross contamination unlikely may occur either at our facility, or at one of our suppliers, we cannot absolutely guarantee the absence of minute traces of gluten containing ingredients in any of our products.


So, use or not use? That is the question...

we love both the soy chorizo and the tofu pups. So far, we have not had any reactions. We can eat GF oats though too, and I know that many cannot.

I haven't had any reactions from the chorizo or the tofu pups. In a pinch and I'm really hungry, a tofu pup fills the bill!!
