Default Soy Joy

These rock! They taste like stale fig newtons but they're awesome, great taste and texture. Good snack. There website has a list of retailers here.
I'm not sure if they're vegan though, I wasn't able to find whether or not they were.

Talking They Contain Dairy and Eggs.

Dear edgeyveggie,
I visited their website. The bars are safe as far as gluten goes. They do contain eggs and dairy, though. I would like to try some. It is odd that they put Parmesan cheese in them. I never would put that with fruit.

Sincerely,
NoGluGirl

I like the soyjoy- apple walnut is my favortie flavor- I buy them by the box at Target.
It is good to have something fast, fool proof, doesn't need the fridge, etc. I keep a box at my desk at work.

Talking

Dear boulder alley,
These are great for on the go! Sometimes, you need something safe and this has some protein, too. That is important. You do not want to grab a candy bar! They have no nutrition, and a lot of sugar. No one needs all of that unhealthy stuff in their diet.

Sincerely,
NoGluGirl

I just tried these. Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip and Berry. My first reaction on both was YUCK. I guess I don't dig on the "fig" flavor so much. But I can see how it could come to be an acquired taste.

I'd rather eat a Larabar any day!

my favorite is the apple walnut. I also get KIND bars, but the soyjoys are much less expensive. I used to have morningstar soy sausage for breakfast in the vehicle, but that has gluten.

Thumbs down soy joy

I have to say that these things taste nasty. My mom sent me a bunch (she assumed they are vegan because they were soy; I assumed she had checked the label before sending them and tried one before checking ingredients myself). Honestly, I thought they were the grossest bars of any brand that I had ever tasted. I ended up cutting them into little chunks and using them for treats for my pet rats because nobody else would eat them.

They actually remind me (the taste) of some of the EARLY gluten free products that came out - in the early 1980s. Terrible.
